Miss Lara Jones is the fashionista and brains behind misslarajones.com . She was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in DeWitt, Arkansas. As a little girl growing up in a rural town, she was obsessed and attracted to the world of fashion. As she grew into her teen years, her infatuation with fashion grew. So much so, that it prompted her to change her major from Pre-Dentistry to Apparel Studies - Marketing in as a sophomore at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Studies, she moved to sunny Southern California with a classmate and dived into retail management. After working in the Long Beach and Orange County areas as an Assistant Store Manager, she began her quest to break into the fast-paced Los Angeles fashion scene. As a Southern Belle living in Southern California in new surroundings, that task would prove to not be an easy one.
One night while browsing for potential Los Angeles fashion job opportunities on the web, she found an ad to purchase a beauty blog. It was 2008 and blogging was in it's infant stage. She purchased it that very night! It wasn’t long before writing about new beauty brand launches and cultivating relationships in the beauty industry turned into writing about new retail store openings and covering new fashion brand launches. It was then the idea of What’s Haute In The Streets was born. What’s Haute In The Streets (formerly Haute Talk ) was birthed in June 2009.
Lara founded What's Haute In The Streets, LLC in 2010 as an extension of her blog with the hopes of educating small businesses in expanding to brick-and-mortar stores and improving their web presence.
